Event - Rotary Tree of Light

Warning: This event has passed. Please return to the events section to view all current and future events.

Sponsor a light for a loved one.

The Rotary Club of Church Stretton's TREE OF LIGHT in Craven Arms this year will be at the Discovery Centre.

Over the years the "Tree of Light" has raised is eagerly anticipated by the community.  More than £50,000 has been raised for local charities, through the generosity of the people of Craven Arms, Church Stretton and the wider community.

The lights that festoon the Christmas Tree of Light at the Shropshire Hill Discovery Centre, Craven Arms, and its sister tree in Church Stretton, enable people to remember a loved one, a special cause or someone living far away through the sponsorship of the lights on the tree.  The funds raised go to support the work of local charities.  As last year the charities being supported are; Hope House Children's Hospices, Midlands Air Ambulance and Severn Hospice.

Rotarians therefore extend an invitation to you to "own" a light, in memory, with a suggested minimum donation of £5.00 per light.  All names are posted on the "In Memory" boards located by the trees and acknowledged with a card.

To sponsor a light, complete a sponsor form which can be collected from the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre or McCartneys Estate Agents.

Alternatively go to the Rotary Club of Church Stretton's website at and download a sponsor form.

The Rotary Club of Church Stretton would like to thank, Shropshire Hill Discovery Centre, McCartney's Estate Agents (Craven Arms), PCB Solicitors, and all others who support the Tree of Light.
