New and Improved Shropshire Hills Through Time Exhibition at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre
The perfect place to start your exploration of the Shropshire Hills, the Shropshire Hills Through Time exhibition dips into the stories of the area and gives you endless ideas for other places to visit and things to go and see.
With plenty to interest the adults, we have something for everyone and to entertain the children during your visit, we’ll challenge them to become landscape detectives, with our Timeline Trail. By the end of your visit, when you head out into the hills, you will be inspired to spot some of their stories for yourself.
With outstanding footage from an Inspire 2 drone, this film promises to be spectacular in high definition, soaring over the hills, towns and rivers of the surrounding landscape on a bigger screen than ever before. Now narrated by Pete Postlethwaite's son, Billy, the legacy of the iconic original film continues as it "soars" for many years to come. From the height of Clee Hill to the valley of Clun, you'll see the Shropshire landscape like you've never seen it before.
Also joining the well known Shropshire Mammoth, along with the new film, are new interactives and games for all the family to enjoy. From start to finish, use all of your senses to explore the Ice Age through to the present day here in the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, home of local charity, Grow Cook Learn. Find out about the mammoth's diet and explore the sights and smells of an Iron Age hut. Enjoy the medieval banquets and learn all about the food, history and landscape of the Shropshire Hills.
