Another fabulous 80K festival!
A report on the 2026 event.
As the eighth edition of SW80K Festival comes to a close, we reflect on another momentous event. Each year, as new traditions begin and lasting memories are created, we feel truly privileged to be part of a really special family.
Thank you to everyone that took part and making the day such an unforgettable one for us. We look forward to welcoming you back next year.
Report*
The overall feel this year was excellent, helped by fine weather and a sense that we were better prepared than we had been in the past.
There was a large proportion of returning volunteers which helped provide continuity of ethos and participant care, and the presence of the children from South Shropshire Youth Forum and the Mosque at the finish line provided a
strong sense of the event being integrated with the local community.
It was also heartening to see so many of our members and trustees playing an active part alongside the volunteer
and staff team.
It was felt that our charitable mission, to connect people to the Food, History and Landscape of the area has been accomplished. Clun Castle, Bury Ditches, Wenlock Edge, Flounders Folly and Stiperstones are just a few of the local landmarks en-route and Shropshire fidget pies, local beef stew and Bara Brith have now become an integral part of the food offer and are eagerly anticipated and talked about on social media.
