Exciting Dragonfly News
The rumours are true...
Geoff Hall, a local naturalist, spotted this Damselfly on one of our ponds and it has been confirmed by Sue Rees-Evans, the county recorder, as a Willow Emerald Damselfiy (Chalcolestes viridis).
This is only the second ever sighting of this species in Shropshire so we are keeping our eyes open in the meadows and we encourage you to do the same.
Whether it will stay or was just passing through, we just don’t know at this stage but we would love to hear if you spot it.
Geoff has a talk here on Monday 1st September, click here for more information.
